Technical Forecast

Forecast Period...

Expect Wednesday's temperatures to be warmer than predicted yesterday with temperatures in the mid to upper 40's throughout the state. The reason for this change is due to the models updating their cloud cover amounts. Less clouds throughout the day means more potential for heating, therefore increasing the high temperatures. Wednesday night an upper level trough will rotate into our region. This upper level trough is associated with the low pressure system that moved to our northeast earlier this week. With this upper level trough axis are several shortwaves at 500mb which will rotate into the region. The trough axis along with the short waves will allow for the possibility for precipitation to fall in the form of a winter mix. At the moment I do not suspect any accumulation of any kind. Any precipitation will be in the form of a brief shower of mixed precipitation. Suspect the precipitation to occur in two waves: Wednesday at 5pm-11pm and Thursday off and on from 8am-Midnight. High pressure will begin to build into the region Friday which will allow for some 50 degree temperatures for the weekend.

Please continue to watch wxextreme for any updates to the forecast.
